JRL Hailed The People Of Sopore For Observed Shutdown | KNO

SRINAGAR, Jan 6 (KNO) : To mark the 24th anniversary of massacre, people observed a complete shutdown in North Kashmir’s Sopore town. Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and Mohd Yasin Malik Saturday hailed the people of Sopore for observing a shutdown on the 24th anniversary of the “Sopore martyrs”. Meanwhile, Joint leadership held a condolence meeting in connection with the Sopore massacre anniversary and prayed for the deceased people. Senior leaders, Bashir Ahmad Qureshi, Gh Nabi Zaki, Shah Wali Mohammad, Ab Ahad and others participated in the meeting. The participants said that they will pursue the mission despite all odds and won’t betray with the sacred blood of martyrs. Meanwhile state authorities put Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, Mohd Ashraf Sehrai under house detention, while as Mohd Yasin Malik and Tehreek-e-Mazahmat chairman, Bilal Sidiqee are lodged in central jail Srinagar, The authorities detained Huriyat spokesman Gh Ahmad Gulzar, Molvi Bashir Irfani, Mohd Yasin Ataie Umer Aadile Dar and Syed Imtiyaz Hyder in different police stations. To thwart the congregational Fateh Khawni authorities had deployed additional police and forces in the town, and despite the curbs, the resistance leaders and activists addressed the people in town and paid rich tributes to the Sopore martyrs.(KNO)
